Rory is a 1 year old Belgian shepherd mix and this girl is ready to explore! Rory and Lorelai were both surrendered to a Texas shelter and are completed devoted to each other. Where one goes, the other follows. Rory is the more timid of the pair until she gets to know you.
Rory and Lorelai have done well around other dogs and older kids. At just 1 year old, Rory has great energy and loves nothing more than to run and play till her heart’s content. She and Lorelai love to be out in the yard running, playing, and having the best time! We are not sure that they are the best group for little, little people since they don’t yet understand how easily their energy can overwhelm a small child. They may also knock over a little one with the crazy playing. However, an older child they can run and play with? Bring it on!
During the day while foster mom is away, they both hang out in their crates and recharge. As long as they are together, they are happy no matter what they are doing. They are both crate trained, and foster mom is working on some obedience training with them. As always, we recommend obedience training for all our rescues to bring out the best in them. With the Belgian shepherd mixes, there is always a good mix of stubborn thrown in with a hefty does of intelligence, so while training is more challenging, watching these girls bloom will be the best reward!
In the evening, after more afternoon play, Rory loves to lay in her dog bed and watch the household. If you get out of her line of sign, she loves to follow you around to see what interesting things you may be doing. While foster mom and Lorelai are snuggling on the couch, Rory has always thought her bed had the better view of the TV. As time goes on however, and she opens up more, Rory has started to venture on the couch as well. Each day she becomes more loving and open.
Nuts and Bolts: 1 year old, 50lbs, spayed, good with dogs and older kids, no cats or birds due to high prey drive, crate trained, potty trained, some obedience training, needs a yard to run.
