No, your eyes are not deceiving you; this is a cat available for adoption with a German Shepherd rescue! Cody is the cat that all people dream of having: he loves being around people, will let anyone pet him, and enjoys cuddling.
Cody is a 1 year old cat that was surrendered due to a urinary obstruction, a surgically repairable condition. His previous owners were unable to pay for his emergency surgery and were going to euthanize him. As a last resort, the vet in Texas called SSR to see if we would be able to take him in so he could be given another chance at life. Well, we don't believe any animal should have to be euthanized due to lack of funds, so here Cody is with us!
Don't let Cody's urinary obstruction deter you from adopting this sweet boy. Cody's condition can be managed by feeding him prescription food, which can be bought at the vet or ordered from Chewy.
A huge benefit of Cody is that he's so easy-going! Here are some great things about Cody:
- Great litter box manners and no accidents
- Doesn't scratch on furniture
- Easily goes into a cat carrier
- Rides quietly in the car
- Holds still at the vet for exams, vaccines, etc.
- Stays calm during nail trims and ear cleanings
Cody is an absolute lovebug and would love to go to a home to provide him with lots of love, cuddles, and chin scratches!
*As a dog rescue, our application is tailored to dogs. If you’re applying for Cody, please just answer questions to the best of your ability as it pertains to cats. The SSR adopted process will be modified for a cat adoption.*
