Shakira was found as a stray in rural Texas. She was running around during a storm while covered in mud. SSR’s founder met her and instantly decided to bring her into the rescue, despite not being a shepherd. Shakira arrived to Virginia in March of 2023 and had yet to have a single adopter interested in her.

Shakira is one of the most loving dogs out there. She is also smiling and wanting to love on everyone. She is crate trained and housebroken; she is also very quiet making her a great fit for apartments and townhomes. Shakira also rides will in the car. 

She is great with all humans and dogs, but no cats for this girl! She is also interested in squirrels while outside, but it is easily managed.

As a happy go lucky girl, all Shakira needs is a family to call her own!
